Is outdoor misting effective?
At Tuxedo Mosquito Control, we think the most convincing evidence that the technology works is the explosive growth in the market. Misting technology has been used in barns to protect expensive racehorses from biting flies for about 30 years. In 1999, an entrepreneur in Houston decided to apply the technology to mosquito control. We estimate that there are 10,000–15,000 working systems in the country, and most have been installed within the last two years. You wouldn’t see that kind of growth if outdoor misting wasn’t truly effective.

Yes, we do! Our mosquito misting systems spray at regular intervals whenever they are needed. The system can be manually turned on and off at any time.
What are the installation and operation requirements?
Yes, we do! Our mosquito misting systems spray at regular intervals whenever they are needed. The system can be manually turned on and off at any time.
Are Tuxedo Mosquito misting systems environmentally friendly?
Yes! Our mosquito misting systems are environmentally friendly. After misting affects mosquitoes and other insects, it decomposes quickly and harmlessly.
What kind of warranty is offered?
Your purchase includes a one-year warranty on the equipment, and labor as long as you use our insecticide in your system. Our maintenance instructions will help extend the life of your nozzle tips in hard water areas. Thousands of customers have enjoyed years of service from their systems with little or no need for replacement parts. We do stock a complete line of parts in case of an unexpected occurrence.
How often should I set the time to come on?
Let nature be your guide. We always start our systems with three sprays a day for about 35 seconds. If necessary, we can adjust later. As different pests swarm or become active, you may increase or decrease the number of sprays you use. You should never need to exceed six times per 24 hour period. Some other insecticides require you to spray every hour or hour and a half — this will never happen with our spray services. You use less insecticide, so you save money.
What maintenance is required on the system?
Tuxedo Mosquito Control handles all your maintenance. These are some of the things we do on a regular basis:
- Rinse the intake filter (that hangs inside the drum) each time we refill your system. Washing your intake filter prevents clogging of your nozzle tips and filters.
- Wash out the system at least once a year to remove any natural bacterial growth or residue accumulation. There are no preservatives or chlorine in the mixture, as these would interfere with the natural ingredients in your insecticide.
- Tuxedo Mosquito Control handles all ongoing maintenance and will take care of 100% of the checking, refilling, winterizing, etc.
How often is the system refilled?
The frequency of refilling your system will depend on the number of spray nozzles installed, the number of sprays per 24 hours, the severity of the insect problem, and the length of each spray cycle. Tuxedo Mosquito Control furnishes each customer with a chart that shows exactly how long a tank of insecticide will last based on a particular spray cycle. The system shuts itself off when there are two or three inches of liquid left in the tank.

How do you determine the number of spray nozzles needed?
We’ll install a spray nozzle circuit around the perimeter of your outdoor space. The number of spray nozzles needed depends on the size of your property. The nozzle circuit is installed discretely along the perimeter of your yard and interwoven into your landscape, regardless of the size of your property.
How is the mosquito misting system operated?
Our system is completely automatic, and we handle all the maintenance — two key advantages of the system. You will never have to worry or plan ahead again in order to enjoy your yard!
How long does a Tuxedo Mosquito Control mosquito misting system installation take?
While other mosquito misting systems take a day or so to install, Tuxedo Mosquito Control misting systems take only three to four hours.
